The COVID-19 virus is transmitted from person to person by the sharing of air droplets with infected people, or from dirtying one’s hands on contaminated surfaces.
Physical distancing is a method of transmission prevention, where a minimum distance of 1.5 metres should be kept between individuals to avoid contact with air droplets.
A minimum distance of 1.5 metres is considered enough to significantly reduce the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
